Powerview Deployment without Sharepoint

Hi,

What are the best mechanisms for distribution of PowerView reports excluding Sharepoint?
Are ASP.NET apps a good option? Are there other options?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. Is that only available in office 365? I have normal excel 2013 64bit and want to distribute it potentially on a website. Is this possible?

We are currently evaluating Datazen, which is produced by a company that Microsoft recently acquired.
http://www.datazen.com/

It can be installed on SQL Servers that have the SA agreement with MS.  We are looking at it for the very reason you cited:
1. A non-SharePoint platform for storing/presenting PowerView-like content.
2. More support for the mobile device platforms than the standard out of the box SharePoint.

The product does have a Web Service component to install and it has a SharePoint Web Part that can be used, or you can just make PowerView-like displays with Datazen's publisher tool.

An Excel file can be used as a data source for these PowerViews.

I've looked into Datazen, but am running into issues (e.g thumbnails greyed out, even though the rendering service is running) but so far seems to be an option

Thanks
