PST file problem. Cannot move the items. Some items cannot be moved. They were either already moved or deleted, or access was denied.

Hi,

Searches bring up similar issues, but there are some specifics here that cause me to ask again.

For a discovery case, I have specified criteria for the Office 365 Exchange discovery tool.  These then create pst files of the search.  Staff then takes those pst files and imports them into their Outlook 2013.  I have checked permissions and also 'unblocked' the pst file.  However, messages from the pst files cannot be moved or manipulated into other folders.  They cannot be deleted either.

I get the following warning-
Cannot move the items.  Some items cannot be moved.  They were either already moved or deleted, or access was denied.

The user has Full Permissions and is set as Owner of the pst files.  Moving the files off of a shared network folder to the local machine does not change the behavior.

Even creating a new pst data file and trying to move message to it does not work.

Thanks for any help.

I was actually trying the Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe) when you answered.  It worked, thank you.  One of the files is 1.3gb, the rest are 50mb-450mb, in any case they now work as expected (copy, move, delete are all ok) after the repair.
I suppose this was obvious, but DTH got this the first time.
Eugene - As soon as you said that you couldn't delete emails - it coulld only be one or two things that will cause this - 1 a pre-2003 pst had got to over 2.0 gb  or it was corrupted -

Glad I could help
