Mailbox Server VM Snapshot is copying 300-400GB of Chnages Daily

So we have Exchange 2013 On premise which are on Vmware ]VMs and we backup the passive the mailbox server as snapshot nightly.  We set it to backup only the changes made since last backup.  Consistently were seeing 300-400GB of data for changes being backed up.  Any idea where to look for what these large changes may be and why?

First, you need to stop Exchange snapshot. You should not take or restore Exchange snap-shot in any circumstance. Restoring snap-shot can create lot of issues, as it is a live data. Secondly, that 300-400GB might log files.

You need to use backup software, which can take passive db full backup.

I was assuming it was a log file but seeing as there are so many I was hoping someone might have an idea to which logs could continually change so much in a 24 hour period.
