"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

In your NEW gmail, click on the big gear on the upper right and go to Settings.  Then account and import. This should be the url https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/accounts

Add your old gmail as pop.  It is in the middle of the page, "Check mail from other accounts (using POP3):"

If you have thousands of emails to bring in, it may take a few hours or more as it is throttled.

An email client using an IMAP connection to both accounts will allow you to transfer the data and the current organization of your mailbox from the old to the new.

Have you checked with google......

POP might only deal with emails that are in the inbox and not in any subfolder...... if any.

Since google does not use folders and instead uses tags, you should be good. But the pop option is the only way I know without using software.

If you don't mind downloading free thunderbird, I have been very successful using that for imap to imap.  However, if you are only use browser email, I don't think this is an issue.
