windows 10 create file shortcut in universal apps start menu
Hello Experts,
Is it possible create a file shortcut in the universal apps start menu in windows 10?
I have windows 10 tablet, and in tablet mode the "windows 8 start screen" pops up.
And all shortcuts there are for the universal apps.
In my case sometimes i need to quickly show a video to someone, and it would be great if I could somehow create a shortcut there to open a video with the "Movies & TV" app for example.
I know one app that creates shortcuts there, that is called TileCreator https://www.microsoft.com/pt-pt/store/apps/tilecreator/9nblggh1rgsk
But that app only makes tile shortcuts to already installed and approved universal apps.
Is it possible to create file shortcut in the universal apps start menu or is there an app to do this?
Thx in advanced,
Miguel

Right click on the program and select Pin to Start. That will put it on the Start Menu in Windows 10.

I was talking about a shortcut to open a file.. a specific video file in my case..
Right click a shortcut like that and pin to start wont appear in the context menu.

I don't think you can do that. You can keep a file on the desktop and double click on it but not put it in the Start Menu.

That is something i don't understand..
In windows 7 we could pin a shortcut in the start menu, now we can't do that in windows 8 or in windows 10 tablet mode..
Maybe an universal app could do this..
