LightScribe sowtware

I have a Dell Precision T3500 that has a LightScribe DVD writer, I recently reformatted the PC and do not have an install of this software so my end user can write these labels to CDs. Where can I get this software?
My end user did Google for it and ended up installing malware. I cleaned it up and am now in need of a software install free or purchased. Can anyone lead me in the right direction here?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Usually you don't use separate software, but burn the image as part of the burning the CD itself. What software are you using to burn them?
I really like cdburner xp, because it is simple and small program, but has all features that I ever needed. It looks that supports also lightscribe.
If you used the PC's recovery partition or recovery DVD's to reinstall the OS, the lightscribe drivers and tools should be included. If you didn't do the installation that way, I suggest you do...

The problem is that lightscribe, which as far as I know is an HP product originally, isn't being supported by HP anymore, and everything you can find on the net is full of malware.

Thanks Rindi, Davorin

anyone know if the s.w. is safe to download?

his would be for a 64 bit Windows 7 Prof. I don't see a 64 bit version
CDBurnerXP is safe, but if you don't have the lightscribe drivers installed, you won't be able to use it to use that option. I also can't really imagine that it properly supports lightscribe, for that you'd need to have some sort of Layout software with templates. If it does support it, then you can probably only write very simple text to the CD without many options.

Usually brand computer with cd/dvd burner comes with the software to burn CD's, such as Nero; once you have the lightscribe driver installed, Nero will show additional tab to make the labels, and it has the templates and label editor in place.
I trust cdburner xp and installers downloaded directly from their web page. I'm also confident that downloads/pages mentioned on their web site are safe. But being prudent never hurts.
On that page is link to lightscribe system software v1.18.27.10 on, but I'm not familiar with that web site.
If it makes you feel safer, here is link for a little bit older version of LSS v1.18.6.1 you can directly download from HP web site:

32 bit is the only version and works fine on x64 OSes. - if you look under key features: "Operating Systems: Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server/Vista/2008/Win7/Win8/Win10 (x86 / x64)"
