Big companies will probably use a centralized network management and automation system, something like this or this for example. Cisco has something called Prime Central, containing multiple management products, as Prime Network for example.

Smaller to midsize companies will sometimes use scripting to change things on multiple switches or go for a tool from Solarwinds or something of that nature.

Switches that come with cloud management are also becoming available now.

See Meraki for example:

A management interface is at the discretion of the administrator of the equipment. Is it a good idea? Yes, I think so. Most vendors provide an equipment management tools for their equipment too, Cisco has Prime and Fortinet has FortiManager which are other options for management. There is also companies out there that make tools that are vendor agnostic like HP Network Automation or SolarWinds that can perform change management to almost any equipment. Also making a push is cloud based tools, like Cisco Meraki.

Thank you Guys for your Insights.

I would like to know whether you can remote to any device and Show / Change configuration on the device with Management solutions that you suggested ?

With the Meraki devices you can do full configuration of the switches.  To use their dashboard however, you do need to use their equipment.
