Installing server 2012 R2 onHP proliant dl380 g7

Hello All,

I have a proliant dl380 g7 which had server 2008 R2 installed on it before  it crashed due to bad HDD and I lost everything on the server.

Now the the machine has been repaired, I have decided to install server 2012 R2 on the machine, but I learnt that I have to upgrade the firmware on the machine before I can install the server 2012 R2.

Can anyone give me the link to download the required firmware for this task as I have checked HP website and I don't know which one download.

Thanks.

Thanks Dan,

Is it all the firmware I should download? Because I can see firmware network, firmware light-out-management,firmware power management etc.

For updating the server's BIOS, you need to download the appropriate file from this section:

BIOS (Entitlement Required) - System ROM (3)

Then I would do all the appropriate firmware that is available.

HP have made a bit of a mess over this entitlement required stuff since they redid their website, the old firmware DVD may be up to date enough for you, it's at ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib2/software1/cd/p1040529012/v71197/firmware-10.10-0.zip (grab it before they lock it away again). You can put any additional .scexe update files on a USB stick and add as supplementals but you may hit the entitlement required problem getting some of them.
