Windows remote control software.

Hi,

I am looking for a solution that I can use to remote control my PC over the Internet - which is running Window 10.

What I am looking for is something where I can insure that i can only do this *from* a specific machine. So trying this from any other machine and access will be denied.

Any recommendations on how to do this?

If the machine I am connecting from could also be a Linux machine that would be great.

Thanks,

Ward

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Everyone has their favourite. I use Remote Desktop Connection built into Windows because it always works.

Hi,

Thanks for the responses - but can either of these ensure I can only do the remote control fro a specific machine?

Thanks,

Hi Ward,

TeamViewer is excellent (and free for personal use):
http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx

It supports W10 (as well as XP, Vista, W7, W8, W8.1).

TeamViewer has many controls on restricting access. For starters, read this article:

And here's the complete manual for remote control:

TeamViewer supports Windows, Mac, Linux, and Mobile:
