Shrink a VMware Virtual Machine Disk (VMDK) through VCenter

Hi I tried to reduce VMDK through Vsphere client, however it showed completed, but didn't reduced the Disk on win2k3 server. I need to know if it causes any impact on the files present on the mounted disk.

As for your question, and put you mind at reset...

No impact, none, because it cannot be done.

You cannot shrink a virtual machine disk through vCenter Server.

The supported method is to complete a V2V using VMware Converter.
