I used to have variability with an 80,000 maxima. After rebooting our SQL server for the first time in a year after some performance problems, page life expectancy is climbing higher and higher - now at 173,000. A page I found on page life expectancy seemed to indicate that larger page life expectancy was better. But they seemed to be referring to far smaller numbers on the whole. Any MS SQL tuning experts on here have a sense of this parameter? Is it possible to grow too big??
