Stop error 0x000007B after h/w version upgrade(from 4 to 7/10) on win 2003 vms on 5.5

Recently observed one issue with most of my win 2003 vms ,while doing h/w version upgrade on 5.5 vc

getting Stop error 0x000007B not allowing to boot the vms.

please advise if this can be resolved somehow ?

Thanks Andrew, i already advised for same,but we have to push the updates as recommend by business

can we do something to correct the storage controller driver and avoid the same further?

Thanks a lot, so no use of snapshot if i want further to downgrade the VMs h/w version ?

only way is to update vmx and reload ?

if this the case why its asking for snapshot when we are scheduling it though update manager ?
