WINDOWS fails to start \EFI\MICROSOFT\BOOT\BCD

i get the error message WINDOWS fails to start \EFI\MICROSOFT\BOOT\BCD .   when i try to boot from system repair disk i get error "This version of System Recovery Options is not compatible with the version of Windows". My question is if i move the hard drive over to another pc can i tell what version of windows is on it and where do i get a system restore disk for it once i find out which version it is?

Moving the hard drive to another computer will not help here - it does not look like a hardware error.

What version of Windows are you trying to repair?

Can you boot in Safe Mode (and then restore to a prior point)?

Boot the PC using Paragon's rescue kit, which is free. It can repair boot problems of PC's:

i booted using the paragons recuse kit but what do i pick to repair boot problems?

You need to fix the boot sector bcd for all partitions. Check if this helps.
