Configuring email accounts in exchange 2013

Dear Expert,

In my organisation  Windows server 2012 is configured. Domain is also configured. We are using Exchange server 2013.  I created an OU with the name Marketing in domain. Also around 30 users are configured in that particular OU(Marketing.) Mail id is also configured for these 30 users.  I want the users in this OU to send & receive the mails from the users that are in Marketing OU. These users should not send & receive mails to other users in different OU's.

Also when the outlook is configured for them then in their contacts only users in Marketing Ou should be there. No other mail ids they can see.

Note:- mail is configured for internal purpose only. There is no public IP.

How can I configure the above for the new created users.

Regards,

JCT

Hi,
You need to create a dynamic distribution group and add all the members from the OU in the group. Then you need to add restrictions by creating filters for the dynamic distribution group. This link should help  you out.

Hi ,

I went to the recipients mailboxes & selected the mailbox features. Under this option I selected Message Delivery Restrictions-view Details- Accept messages from only the senders in the following list. I added the users from whom to receive the messages. But now I need to these users can send mails to each others means same OU.

Please help me in configuring sending restrictions internally. Also when they open the address book then can see only those users in their OU only. They can't see other mail ids.

That is delivery restrictions to a user. You rather create a simple distribution group, and add all members of the OU in it. Since you've gone that route. Create a transport rule to permit only sending to members of this group, from members of this group, else delete the message. You can also set a custom DSN. 5.7.1 will do the job.

For the address book, you need to create another one and restrict it to only this OU.

Hi ,

If you want I can remove the existing settings & go back to the distribution group. But this one is little bit confusing for me. If you can provide me some more links it will be good.

Hi ,

I don't see the below option when i open adsiedit.msc in server 2012:-

Browse to Configuration–> CN=Microsoft Exchange –> CN=ORG –> CN=Address Lists Container –> All Global Address List –>

Right click Global Address List and go to Properties.

Look for the Addribute name MsExchSearchBase and add the OU in the following format

    CN=Users,DC=Domain,DC=Domain.

Need this option to configure GAL for OU's as mentioned in :-
