CHAP and .NET

Hi;

I need to implement a simple .NET application that uses CHAP. Is there any builtin CHAP library in .NET or are there 3rd party library for this?

Note that I can see there is something here but not sure whether it is pointing to a builtin CHAP library in .NET or a library that is to be enabled. https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc224612.aspx

Can you enlighten me?

Best regards.

I see it more of DirectoryEntry and  ADConnector.AuthenticateUserPassword

(specific Auth C# class to validate User credentials on Active Directory (LDAP) ) http://praveen-rangarajan.blogspot.sg/2009/06/c-class-to-validate-user-credentials-on.html

Hi;

Is it possible to go for a solution that does not incorporates AD or LDAP as it is really hard to follow where CHAP starts and ends in the above links?

CHAP is challenge and response so you need some sort of authentication server minimally to do CHAP against. Other possibility is RADIUS based PAP and CHAP like this case which has client codes http://sourceforge.net/projects/ace-radius/
