I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Don't mess around with a script for this, get yourself a copy of EXIFTOOL at the link below, study up on the usage, and have at it.  It is a great tool for command line manipulation of EXIF data in images.

http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/

If you just want to get rid of everything then there are tools for that, but I would caution against that, there is a lot of useful into in the EXIF metadata of image files that you would be losing, like camera type, image size, shutter speed, focal length, etc...

If you ONLY use JPG images, then an alternative tool that i have used for years is jStrip:
http://davidcrowell.com/jstrip/
Last update v 3.3 was mid 2006, but it works in Vista and therefore should work in Windows 7 (unsure about Windows 8 and 10).

It needs to be installed rather than run as a standalone, but the uninstaller works fine.   The GUI version is installed as a normal Windows application that can be configured to suit and creates a start menu shortcut (and optionally a new Right-Click menu option), and a command line program is created in the "Windows" folder.  Switches and options for the command line version below.

WARNING:  DO NOT use the option to remove "JFIF" header block.  This is the portion of a JPG file that causes it to be identified as such.

Usage:
JSCL [OPTIONS] FileSpec

FileSpec - Pathnames with spaces should be enclosed in quotes

Options must be separated by a space, and begin with
"/" or "-"

Available options:

/R - Clear Read Only
/S - Process Subfolders
/N - Run at Idle Priority Class
/J - Remove JFIF Block
/C - Leave JPEG Comments
/E - Leave EXIF Block
/P - Leave Photoshop IRB
/A - Leave Adobe APP14 Block
/I - Leave ICC Color Profile
/M - Leave XMP Data
/D - Keep File Timestamp
/F - Force Other File Types (not recommended)
/X - Delete Invalid Jpegs (not recommeded)
/DU - Don't Output Entry for Unchanged Files
/DP - Don't Output Entry for Processed Files
/DE - Don't Output Entry for Errors
/DS - Don't Output Summary
/DO - Silent - No Output
/CS - Convert underscores and %20 to spaces
/CU - Convert underscores to spaces
/CP - Convert "%20" to spaces
/TS - Trim leading and trailing spaces from filename
/LC - Force filenames to lowercase
/UC - Force filename to uppercase
/JP - Follow junction points

As Bill mentioned above, I suggest that you retain your original images and remove the metadata from COPIES that you can then use for the website.
