I have a Windows 8 workstation that has connectivity issues every morning. Every morning we need to disconnect the network adapter then re-connect it again so the workstation can be accessed by the rest of the network. The workstation is a Windows 8.1 virtual machine hosted on ESXi 5.5. The other guests on the host have no issues. I have tried to delete the NIC and change the type from E1000 to VMX but it did not help. Any idea what may be happening here?

Does it get IP by DHCP or static...? maybe you have some IP conflict

static, the network has been scanned and checked for IP conflicts
I forgot about this but ultimately in the end it must have been the power management in Windows 8 that was the culprit. I disabled it and have not had as issue since.
