Does any know of a solution that can image a disk that is encrypted?    We currently use Sophos as out encryption solution, and use Acronis for our imaging solution.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Everything I've read lately, as we do image all systems and Bitlock all laptops, suggests that you must decrypt any hard drive *before* imaging.

Ya - I pretty much see the same thing around, or some companies say it may work, but do not guarantee it.

It sucks to be sure.. but depending on how many IT heads you've got to throw at managing desktops I think the safest bet is to take the time to decrypt then image.

Ya - what we do now when we build laptops, we image them before putting Sophons and VPN on them to ensure we have the lateset and greatest image, and if anything should happen to their laptop, we can bring it back to life to that point, encrypt, instsall VPN, and call it a day..
