Hyper-V 2012 R2 Remote Management

I currently have 5 Hyper-V servers in a workgroup.  My entire AD Environment and servers are virtual.

My computer is joined to the domain.

I would like to use the Hyper-V Manager to connect to the Hyper-V hosts in that workgroup from my computer which is joined to the domain.

I am getting authentication issue.

How can I resolve?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are you running the MMC as a user with admin rights to those hosts?
BSModlinAuthor Commented:
I am joined to the domain so it is passing my domain credentials which won't work.

How do I add the workgroup credentials to the MMC?
Ben HartCommented:
On my own workstation, when I want to run ADUC with domain admin rights I set the shortcut's target path to:

C:\Windows\System32\runas.exe /savecred /user:domain\administrator "mmc dsa.msc"

can you please send me the syntax for the hyper-v manager .... and how would the username look since it is in a workgroup?  I use the local admin account.
Ben HartCommented:
I believe this should work:

C:\Windows\System32\runas.exe /savecred /user:workgroup\administrator "mmc virtmgmt.msc"

C:\Windows\System32\runas.exe /savecred /user:servername\administrator "mmc virtmgmt.msc" for local admin on the hypervisor.
