Business Objects WebIntelligence - need to create a report with .pdf only output

Is it possible to save WebI output ONLY to .pdf ? This is for sensitive data that CANNOT be manipulated once downloaded to computer.

I googled and searched on SAP and the closest I could find was this and this (which doesn't sound good)

Is this possible ? What about with Crystal ? We told the director, "oh, that can't be done in WebI".

I did look at Scheduling, and saw that the output can be .pdf, which seemed fine to me. Are there other ways of doing this, such as not allowing .xls or .csv as outputs for this one particular report.

mlmcc,  thanks !

>>There is no way in WebI that I know of to prevent a user viewing the report from saving the report to Excel.
- ok, good to know.

>>You could put the report in a folder that most users can't see. You could then schedule it and have the output go to PDF which you would make available to all users.
- good suggestion. But when I choose "File Location" destination, the only option is "use the Job server's defaults" . . . can't I send it to a Windows file server ?

>>With Crystal you could ensure the only export routine that is available is PDF however that would preclude any other report from being exported to anything but PDF>
- this doesn't make sense that you can't specify for an individual report. We are trying to print transcripts to .pdf.

So I'd say our requirement can't be done in Crystal but it could in WebI.

mlmcc,

ok, good on the scheduling option with Crystal Reports.

I'm not the admin either but will keep it in mind about the file system option in CMC.

Thanks !
