driver will not install in windows 7

I have been trying to install drivers for a HP mfp officejet 4500 G510n-z. No matter where i get the drivers from HP web site or disk that came with the printer the device manager will see me plug and unplug the printer but the printer always says that it is off line. The device manger is telling me that no driver can be found reinstall.
Is it possible that this printer just died. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver three of four times but no luck at all.
Btw the printer has been working for the last two or so years without a problem.
TIA

Could be the printer or it could be the cable.  Try switching the cable.  Also, try installing the printer on another computer to make sure the printer is still good.

Also try a different USB port on the computer you are trying to install it on.  It's possible the USB port may be acting up.

It is certainly possible that the printer is dead. I suggest you try it on another PC, or boot your current one using a LiveMedia like PCRepix. If you can then see and access the printer it isn't dead...

Go to Devices and Printers, Printer Server Management, Drivers Tab and delete the driver for this printer. Shut down the computer, start up and try again.

Also, this printer is wireless if I remember correctly so if the step above does not work, then try setting it up wirelessly.
