Mergefield numbers

I have some data, a number with three decimal places, in a cell. When I do a Mergefield into my Word document, I get about twelve decimal places. I've tried everything I can think of, but can't get the three decimal places in the Word doc. Any ideas?

Let's say in a1 the number you have ..then in b1 you can use this formula...

This will round your number to three decimals only...

try right click the mergefield, and then select Toggle Field Codes.

change the codes from { MERGEFIELD Col_N }

{ MERGEFIELD Col_N  \# #,#0.000 }

and then try again...

Thanks both. Ryan, your answer did the trick. Saurabh, yours changes the cell, and gives me 3 decimal places there, but doesn't do anything about the merge field itself
