Office 365 : A long wait time in Outlook

Hi,

This is related to Microsoft Office 365 (or Office 2013). It is related to Microsoft outlook (and possibly Exchange Server). There is a long wait time (8-12 minutes) to navigate from email to email; or it just reads "Not responding" and will close within 15 minutes.

Thanks,
tjie

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Many possiblities.  Office 365 syncs with the Outlook account - assuming you have cached exchange mode installation.  The speed of your internet connection is a factor in folder synchronization.  Also, if it has been awhile since your last login, the Office 365 is busy synchronizing messages between the 'cloud' and your device.
Do you have the same symptom when connect to Office 365 directly?

Hi Tjie,

There are a couple things you can try, I'll mention them as per the order you can try:

1) I would start by creating a new Outlook profile.
Start -> Control Panel -> Mail -> Profiles >> and create a new one.
This allows you to go back to the previous mailbox if this solution does not work.

2) You can also try switching from cached mode to non-cached mode.

3) Run a repair on Office 2013

If the above steps does not resolve your issue, I'd check network setting, create a new user profile or check for hardware issues - maybe the hard drive?

Hope this helps
