Which services are needed that WSUS can run?

Hi

One of our customers are going to monitor a WSUS Server. Which service is really needed that WSUS can run successfully?
In our option only WSUS  Service and IIS is needed. Is the Windows Update also a need? We also need to tell the customer which ports the Server is using. As this is a Server 2012 R2 I think IIS and WSUS  Service will only communicate with the Port 8530.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

the service is part of the operating system required for installing updates

I think IIS and WSUS  Service will only communicate with the Port 8530

that is the default but can be changed

you also need the database service whether it is sql somewhere or internal database locally

I assuming (usually not a good thing) that you mean the customer will be in-charge of deploying updates from this WSUS server to workstations within their organization.  They will need the IIS and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) roles installed on the server and running in order to serve up updates.  The port used by WSUS is port 80.  For more information on completely setting up and running a WSUS environment, you should look at https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsserver/bb332157.aspx for a very thorough discussion of Windows Server Update Services.  It's also possible to use Powershell to manage a WSUS implementation, but that's much longer discussion.
