Add a unique index to MySQL table using phpMyadmin

I've done this before, I can't seem to figure out how to do it now?

Directions please?

If there is no 'unique' index in the table now, add an INT 11 Autoincrement Primary key to the beginning of the table structure.
Hi Richard,

The exact steps will vary depending upon what version of phpMyAdmin you're running.  For version 4.1+

From the table structure page, find the option related to indexes.  It should be underneath the input area for adding columns to the table beneath the schema.  Choose to create an index on 1 column; from the modal dialog that appears, give your index a name, select the Unique index type, and choose the column to index.  Then press Go.  phpMyAdmin will then run the relevant query, which should look something like:

ALTER TABLE my_table ADD UNIQUE INDEX unique_my_field ( my_field );
