Fortigate 200B - Block an external IP address

Hi!

Is it possible with the Fortigate 200B to block an external IP address?  IF yes, can someone explain to me how?  I would like to block this IP: 212.83.154.218

The current version of my Fortigate 200B is v5.0,build0271 (GA Patch 6)

Thanks!

Could you explain what you mean with blocking? Do you want to block access FROM that IP, or TO that IP, or access to the admin interface?

To block to or from that IP, just add a policy entry (preferably at the beginning of your rules, or at least before any general input or output policies) that explicitly denies that host.

For your admin access, you shouldn't block specific IPs (not possible as such anyway), but limit access to those IPs that are explicitly allowed to access services.

Apart from that, I'd update the OS on your FG to something more current ... you can (and maybe should if you don't have any experiences with 5.2) stick to the 5.0 train, but the recent releases are all pretty stable and the known bugs are limited and mostly easy to get bye with ...
