"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Start Task Manager and see if you can see anything taking up the resources on the VM.

If you don't see anything, start Performance Monitor and capture a period of time while the issue is happening.

Take the resulting file and run it through PAL and see if anything shows up in the report.

Check the settings on your VM to make sure it has enough resources.

Is any other access to the VM slow or is it just this one application?

Got it.  Capture the PerfMon before and during the event and see what it turns up.  I've seen it where disk latency can cause issues like this.  PAL will analyze the entire performance log and organize the entire thing into a nice report that is easy to read.

It's a good tool to get an overview of what is happening on your system.
