Windows Server 2008, user password changed, with issues

A user whose laptop was not on the domain, had her domain user password changed yesterday.

She is still off site, and so she can log in to her laptop with the old password for now.  However, she cannot connect to Outlook, because she is connecting to Exchange Server (via WatchGuard Mobile VPN), which is expecting her new password.

She is not able to get back on site before Monday, but needs to work the weekend.  Is there a workaround to this issue without having to take the laptop back onto the domain?

Thanks.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Can she connect to your network via VPN?  Once she does and authenticates it should update her password on the laptop and she should be all set.

She could always access her email via OWA.

Reset her password back to old one.

That worked, thanks. Since the VPN didn't start first, I locked her screen and then re-logged in with her new password. Then I restarted and re-logged in with her new password and all was fine. Thanks.

Glad that worked.  I ran into the exact same issue a quite few times with sales reps who were on the road a lot.
