RDP to 2012 from 2003

I can't RDP to server  2012R2 from 2003. I can RDP fine from a Windows 7 machine. I know something needs to be changed on 2012 but am unsure what.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

In Win 2012 Network Level Authentication (NLA) for RDP is enabled by default. Win2003 it is not. You can either disable it on the Win 2012 server or update the RDP client on Win2003. It's possible Win 2003 won't support NLA for RDP.  To disable it on Win2012 server, type gpedit.msc in the RUN box. Then navigate to:  Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Security\Require user authentication for remote connections by using NLA: Disable

I don't recommend leavning it disabled. This setting is to eliminate M-I-M attacks
