Server 2012 Essentials - Console?

Been out of the loop for a while on the "SBS" side. Just cracked open a copy of Server 2012 R2 Essentials

1) Did they do away with the SBS Console and are we finally back to just ADUC?

2) Does the Essentials Server have to hold all the FSMO roles like SBS did?

So for all practical purposes it is SBS???
no; no more SBS
essentials has some functionality at the level SBS had but doesn't include the other products like sql and exchange
It is the direct successor to SBS Essentials 2011. It has some overlap in targeting some of the same audience as older editions of SBS, but is not considered a direct successor. Limits of 25 users from 75 and looser coupling of add-in services and products allowing businesses to better mix and match, for example, differ greatly from SBS of old.
