I am experiencing very slow logon and logout times.

My setup (All servers are virtual):
2 AD servers. Windows 2008 R2. These are both the DNS servers for the domain.
2 Terminal servers. Windows 2008 R2.

When i logon using RDP i get logon/logout times ranging from 50 sec. to 8 min.
If i logon using the VMware console the logon is about 25 sec and the logout is about 5 sec.

Almost every solution i can google, seems to point to DNS. I don't think i have any DNS related issues as i can ping every thing and the nslookup is also correct and fast.
It seems that the issue is somehow with the RDP.

Check RDP "show options" settings themselves. Maybe a program starting up?

Roaming profiles will slow your logon if the profile is very large. When you are using roaming profiles it is a good practice to also use Folder Redirection for Desktop/My Docs folders as well to ensure that the user does not save large files or documents to these locations.

Slow logon are usually due to profile size or network related issues.
