Adding a value to combo box even if i use a rowsource query

Access 2010

I have a combo box that gets its values from a query..

I want to add to the combo box "Please Make a Selection" ?
even though its not part of the rowsource query.

Is this possible.?

revised your rowsource query to a union query

select [fieldname] from tablex
select '<Please Make a Selection>' from tablex

this will vary accordingly based on your actual query..

copy and paste your rwosource query

Of course you will have to handle this selection in the code running from the combo box's AfterUpdate event, in case somebody selects the "Please make a selection" item (this is bound to happen!)
