Windows 10 Outlook notifications won't auto clear

Well it's nice that Windows 10 has the notifications feature on the side but how do you get them to clear after you've read the email already?
I mean - I get a new email - a notification follows, I read the email through Outlook (without going through the notification center) & then when the email has already been read the notification still remains in the notification center - what's the point in that?!

I wear a lot of hats...

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I am using Windows 10 with Outlook 2013. Outlook notifications for me show up in the System tray while downloading and clear when downloaded whether Read or Not. That part works.

Now I do not have other Outlook notifications but Windows 10 notifications stay until cleared. I do not know whether a bug or feature. I just clear at the end of a day

That's my question - I don't want to clear the Windows 10 outlook mail notifications at the end of the day - I want it to clear once I've read the specific email it notified me on (as, naturally, the notification is no longer relevant..).

Anyone who does(!) know is welcome to answer, thanks ;)

First, I do not have Outlook Notifications enabled. I don't need them and that is why I am not seeing them.

Second, try this:

Go to Start, Settings, System Display/Notifications top left. Click on Notifications and actions. You can turn notifications OFF for some or all apps. Look down the screen for Outlook and turn off notifications. These are Windows Notifications and not Outlook Notifications but it might works for you.

Windows 10 Notifications (lower right icon) do not auto clear in any short time.
