HP DL160 Gen 9 Smart Array SATA Configuration Required

Hi All

I have just built a DL160 Gen 9 server and am always prompted upon start-up of the server that configuration is required of the SATA optical Drive.

The server has a Smart Array P440 as the primary raid controller and also the Dynamic Smart Array B140i embedded controller. I have tried disabling the B140i via the bios and the message disappears from start-up however I loose optical drive functionality. Is there a way of resolving this error or is it a limitation of the embedded controller?

I have attached screen shots of the server boot procedure detailing the error messages.

You have to disable RAID on the B140i, currently you're disabling the whole thing rather than its fakeRAID function.

In UEFI configuration: Systen Utilities > BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) > System Options > SATA Controller Options > Embedded SATA Configuration > Disable HP Dynamic Smart Array RAID support.

Alternatively you could set the boot mode to legacy rather than UEFI since RAID is disabled under legacy mode anyway.
