How to add the existing AD username into the Managed By AD computer field ?

Hi all,

My active directory domain is on windows server 2003 forest & domain functionality level.

So how can I write the existing logged in AD username into the AD computer object "Managed By" field ?

If anyone know how the combination of the Powershell and GPO trick please share it here.

Most of the workstations are running windows 7 & 8.1.

Yep! Here is a method that I use

It is a combination of Group Policy with a VB Script. The link is a series and shows you a few other ways to use this trick.

OK so by using that script above and GPO login script it should be able to write the AD user account for that computer ?

What about if the user already logged in ?

After you set this, the attribute will update on the next logon. So any logged in users would need to log back into their computers for this to update.
