You say "intermittent".
Is this failure one that occurs on an email destination to which it sometimes succeeds? Or is it more like "it works for most email destinations, but not these other ones, where it never succeeds" -- that would be a telling clue.

Of course you will use your own network settings
Make sure that you are not getting conflicting ip addresses on your network. If there is another computer trying to use the ip address that the ricoh is on, the printer will not work.
