Set Windows Photo Viewer as default program using Group Policy

How can I set Windows Photo Viewer as the default program for JPG, JPEG, PNG, Ect using Group Policy for an entire company?

I have a Windows 2008 R2 domain controller and a bunch of new Windows 8.1 computers. By default, Windows 8.1 uses the Photo application which opens as a full screen tile. I would like to avoid needing to change this default app for all users.

Because Windows Photo Viewer does not have a direct .exe, how can I deploy this default app using GP?

You would need to distribute a registry item:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\pngfile\shell\open\command\
Default (RegSZ), to the value rundll32.exe c:\windows\system32\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen %1

Computer Configuration > Preferences > Control Panel Settings > Folder Options

GP update your PC's and it should work.
