Exchange 2013

After the recent migration of Exchange server 2013. I have noticed that the address book on client are not updated but it is updated on the webmail. GAL on client should be updated for new user added a week back but it still does not show on client.

Any new users or changes are showing up on webmail address book but does not show up on Outlook client for MAC or Windows

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

How the Address Book is published via Public folders or web distribution? any errors getting while updating on client side? check the event logs also

pchettriIT DirectorAuthor Commented:
no errors on client side but recently I noticed the new users and changes were not updated to all client even after updating address bookl. Not major event on Exchange server except couple of standard warning not related to OAB. Since, I have decommissioned old exchange 2007 and only have 2013, it has to be online distribution

You need to make sure that on your Databases where you are hosting the mailboxes that the Client Settings have the correct OAB setup. If the OAB is not set on the database then this could be a reason why it is not updating.

Servers>Database>Edit Settings>Client Settings> Offline Address Book

Thanks Will.. the OAB on Servers>Database>Edit Settings>Client Settings> Offline Address Book is missing... Should I click on Browse and add the "Default address book for Exchange2013"?

Will SzymkowskiSenior Solution ArchitectCommented:
Yes that is correct. You need to do this for ALL of your databases. Once you have done that then your clients will then be able to reference this OAB which will show updates to new users added to the GAL.

Is there a command to force and push the updates to client after OAB has been added?
I tried Update-offlineaddressbook -identity "name" but it did not force immediately. Or should I wait overnight for a scheduled update time?

Also, I noticed the error while trying to send /receive from client -

Task "user@domain.com" reported error (0x8004010f):"the operation failed. An object cannot be found.

If this is only happening for a single user try re-creating the Outlook profile.

Have you tried to re-create your OAB and the re-distribute it?

When you run Test Email Auto Configuration from Outlook what URL is OAB using?

Will.

pchettriIT DirectorAuthor Commented:
On test run I can see ECB sub URLs, OWA URL, EWS URL but  I do not see OWA URL

It is working with new profiles now. Need to find a way to force in existing user profile

Your only option is re-creating the Outlook profiles that no longer work.
