How to block Facetime on home network

I have bee  asked to set WiFi scheduling as part of parental control on a home network. Hence I have blocked internet access for 2 devices (Apple (iPad & iPhone) from 8pm thru 8am.
However, I have also been asked to block Facetime on these same 2 devices on the same scheduled basis. Although I have blocked internet access as described, Facetime is still accessible on both during the restricted time period.

The router is a Technicolour 582N from Plusnet (UK).

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi Paulmac110,

There are two ways to do this.

1. would be Settings > General > Restriction and then make the restrictions you want.

2. You will need to block the ports in the Router.  Please see this article from Apple:

Using FaceTime and iMessage behind a firewall

And more generally this:
TCP and UDP ports used by Apple software products

These are the ports you will have to deal with.
