lsyncd in Linux

I want to add some comment to the lsyncd.lua but it returns with error. Can I add any comment in the file /etc/lsyncd.lua

Stopping lsyncd:                                           [  OK  ]
Starting lsyncd: Error: error loading /etc/lsyncd.lua: /etc/lsyncd.lua:183: unexpected symbol near '#'

in LUA comments start with double dash like in SQL
