Exchange 2013 Services and their start states?

We recently were bitten by a security update that failed and turned off all the exchange services. I have things working however I would like to find documentation of what the IIS and Exchange services should be set to manual/delayed start/ etc.

I can find 2010 docs but there is nothing like that for 2013!

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

When you look at a fresh install of Exchange server 2013 with both CAS and Mailbox Roles installed all of the services EXCEPT FOR POP/IMAP4 should be set to Automatic startup .

The only other service that is manual is the Microsoft Exchange extension for Windows Server Backup.

A side from that everything else should be set to Automatic Startup and Started.

Unless of course you are using POP or IMAP or Windows Server backup for Exchange.
