Outlook 2010 Delay in attaching files to emails

Have customer with outlook 2010 sp2 runnning on Win 7 sp1.  The email is hosted externally.  All the sudden he is getting delay when trying to attach files to emails.  The attachment browse window open but there is a delay in enumerating all the folders.  It will show the Inseert File window and may say not responding for a few min before enumerating all the folders and allowing attachment functionality.  I tried disabling all add-ins and also opening Outlook in Safe Mode.  Neither made a difference.  I tried also deleting the outlook profile and setting up with a new profile which didn't make a difference.  I next logged off as that user and logged on as another domain user and setup Outlook.  Attaching files from that user works fine.  Need to figure this out as quickly as possible. Thx.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Can you have the user log on to another machine and try. If it works, perhaps remove the windows profile from registry.

1. Login in as administrator

2.Go to the Users folder on the C: and make sure to rename the users profile. example profilename.old

3.  run regedit

4. find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\
(profilename will be in here)

5.Delete the key with the users profile name.

6. Log off administrator account and have the user log in normally.

7. Perform a migration of data from profilename.old to profilename.
