Website appearing incorrectly in Google search

G'day experts,

A client's website appears incorrectly in Google after entering a search of their business name, as follows:

Welcome to Denistone East Before and After School Care Association, better known as DEBASCA. We are a non-profit community organisation, managed by a ...

(Above is a cut and past of the text in a Google search. No adjustments have been made)

Any idea what would be causing this? More to the point, what would you suggest we do to resolve this?

Looking forward to hearing your collective throughts...

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Dave B, what browser are you using? Are you saying that you see neither the big blue WEBSITE, or even their URL in green?

I've checked both Google Chrome & Microsoft Edge (so, Windows 10) and it appears to have a big WEBSITE in blue where I would expect their business name to be. As I wasn't the one to set it up, I am unfamiliar on how to change this, however wonder if it might be something a can change via their cPanel?!

David, Was your first response supposed to be blank? I'm not being facetious in saying this- I wasn't sure it you were making a point that something was missing which shouldn't be. Is this where 'DEBASCA' should be?
Servant-LeggieAuthor Commented:
David, that index.php header section information looks right to me.

This is what I see in Google when I search for Denistone East Before and After School Care Association.Denistone East Before and After School Care Association in GoogleWhere the word Website appears in the Google results is normally the 'title' of the page.  Since that is not the title of the current page, it may have been the title before.

Thanks Dave, I get what you're saying now. From what I understand, up until a few days ago the word DEBASCA was in place of WEBSITE. So, would it be right to suggest that I need to have whoever manages the website to adjust this field in the appropriate place in the back-end of the site?
Dave BaldwinFixer of ProblemsCommented:
That normally comes from the 'title'.  The current title is...

It should show up after the next time Google scans the site.  No need to change anything.

Thanks Dave. Your comments and assistance was helpful and much appreciated!

You're welcome.  Google is pretty slow sometimes about updating listings.
Servant-LeggieAuthor Commented:
Yeah, I would have hoped it would only take 24-48 hrs, but I guess not. Out of interest, what is the longest time you've known for these changes to take place? Just good to have a rough idea of a potential worst-case scenario.
Dave BaldwinFixer of ProblemsCommented:
Google scans web sites every 3 to 6 months unless there is a reason to scan them more frequently.  If you join Google's Webmaster Tools, you can upload a 'sitemap' and that will usually get them to scan it sooner.

Thanks Dave, I might do that!
