Outlook 2013 hangs and wait to update folders

Hi Experts,

not on all bit on some client machines I have an issue with outlook.
With one employee it is really annoying because when he is not using outlook for 15 minutes , then later it stuck for 30 seconds.
The message is always ...waiting to update the folders...

The client outlook version is 2013 and the exchange server version is 2007.

Can you help me to find the problem ?
I am sitting on the same floor but I haven´t this issue.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try to start Outlook in safe mode (If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, then there is a Search box in the Start Menu. Here type; outlook.exe /safe)
Disable plugins etc.

Also. How big is the pst file of the profile ?

Creating a new Outlook profile should correct this issue.

Here is a helpful link on resolving this issue by creating/repairing the .OST file.
