vRealize Automation - it allows you to develop and build custom scripts, applications etc

see here

http://www.vmware.com/uk/products/vrealize-automation/features.html

vRealize Configuration Manager (Formerly VMware vCenter Configuration Manager), track changes on your ESXi infrastructure, run health checks, xsecurity reports etc

vCenter Operation Manager  (Formerly VMware vCenter Operations Manager) - Capacity Management and Alerting, report generation.

They are all available as standalone products (licenses) or more cost effective if purchased as a suite e.g. VMware vRealize Suite.

ASKER

thank you for this information

right now we are paling to buy

1- VMware vSphere 6 with Operations Management Enterprise
2- VMware vRealize Operations Insight 6

and i found online this link
https://www.vmware.com/products/vrealize-operations-insight/compare

and i am thinking if i can ask my manager to add also   vRealize Log Insight

i don't know what is the best decision to  get the best benefits with  cost effective

please advice

Log Insight, is just a re-branded modified version of Splunk, e.g. a Syslog server!

So have a think if you can use all these tools, and what will you do with all the alerts they generate?

How large is your team, and how large is your virtual estate?

ASKER

we have around 250 VMs different things  SAP - exchange - AD - file server - xendesktop - and many other things

we are as data center team just 3 administrators

so what the best advice from your side for me do you think Log insight will be helpful to find the root cause of the problem  faster more than search inside the OS logs and etc

or you think this tool will just headache for us

now we are building full vmware environment servers and VSAN  so if you can give me advice what the best tools that we can have to help us .

thanks
sword
Personally, I think you would be better off looking at something like:-

Opvizor or Sonar

https://www.opvizor.com/

https://sonar-raas.com/media/xtravirt-launches-sonar-reporting-as-a-service-for-virtual-infrastructure/

otherwise you will be looking through meaningless syslogs for hours and days!

These can give you instant health warnings! (with help!)

right now we have offer fro vsphere 6.0 with operation manager and vRealize Operations Insight

but we don't have vRealize log insight  .

if you think this product like opvizor  will work as a good replacment for operation manager and  vRealize

plus the cost will acceptable so i will try to take to my manager

but what i understand that even if we deiced to buy    peration manager and vRealize Operations Insight so no need to add log insight because will be more work and will not bring any help for us

thank you for your advice
