Identity Provider Initiated Single Sign On - ADFS

Hi,

We have recently implemented SSO using ADFS 2012

Thus far all of our SSO partners have supported Service Provider Initiated Single Sign on however we now have a new federation to create whereby they only support Indentity Provider Initiated Single Sign on.

Has anyone got any experience of implementing this? What is required?

Thanks

Hi Amit,

Yes I am.

I read about ADFS RelayState. Will that do what I am looking for?

if I understand correctly, your SP doesn't have URL and you need to provide IDP URL to your user?

Here what you need do:

You need to combine your metadataurl with relay partner identifier value in your adfs. Example:

Your metadata URL:
https://metadataurl.domain.com/adfs/ls/idpinitiatedsignon.aspx

Append this at the end (Case sensitive)
?loginToRp=typeidentifier

Final URL
https://metadataurl.domain.com/adfs/ls/idpinitiatedsignon.aspx?loginToRp=typeidentifier

Let me know the result.

Thanks!

I will need to wait on the SP setting things up at their end to test.

I will let you know how I get on
AmitIT ArchitectCommented:
You can test with current SP also.
