Is there a way to add an avator to my blog posts?  I am using wordpress with the genesis theme.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Can we define "avatar" better?  User profile pic or something else?

Not sure what the official name is.  I heard you can add a small pic to go with your blog posts.

Okay, that's called the "Featured Image" and you should have an option to upload/use one in the post editing screen.

Not sure that is right.  I am not talking about the photo associated with the post (ie talk about fruit and include a photo of an apple).  What I am talking about is that I thought when I enter a post, that next to my name (or in place of my name), I could include a small pic.

Trust me. I have been using WordPress since 2009 and the photo associated with the post is the Featured Image.  If you add one to a post, it gets used as the post thumbnail in various places.  One of the places it is NOT used by default is in the post itself...you have to manually add it or use a plugin or a template to insert it.

However, your user profile photo is something different.  If you want that to be a different image per post, that's a much more complicated solution.
