Removing internet explorer from 2003 server

Hi, one of our shipping programs recently requires internet explorer and the current version is not working properly so wanted to use IE7 instead of the current IE8 on the 2003 server.  It wont let me install 7 since it detects 8 as more current so is there a way to uninstall internet explorer?

All you have to do is remove it from installed updates.  Go to the Control Panel and add/remove programs.  You should see an option to show or view windows updates or see internet explorer. Just uninstall it and it should downgrade itself.  When you go to check for windows updates, just make sure you uncheck and hide the Internet Explorer 8 update so you don't accidently update to IE8 again.

1. Enter Cmd.exe in the “Run” section of start menu. Pressing “Enter”
2. Paste “%windir%\ie8\spuninst\spuninst.exe” in the command window, pressing “Enter”
3. This will uninstall the Explorer 8.
4. Restart your computer to verify this.
5. After restart log back to the system and Open Internet Explorer.
6. Select the “Help” menu, from the dropdown select “About Internet Explorer”.

You should be able to see Internet Explorer 6 or 7 in this dialog box, this confirm that IE8 has been removed.
