Outlook 2013, Win10 + Exchange 2013 setup issue

Hello
I'm having an issue connecting to our corporate Exchange 2013 server from a Windows 10 machine running Outlook 2013.

The problem is quite simple: when I try to define (manually, not using auto discovery) my "exchange server or compatible service" account I get a prompt for a server name and user mailbox. I enter both and I systematically get an error that the "connexion to the Exchange server is not available". No user / pass prompt, just a long wait and that error message.

Accessing OWA on same server from this machine works so it is not name resolution nor connectivity issue.

Accessing same server on a variety of devices (iOS, Outlook 2013 on Win 8.1, Apple Mail client) works fine. But the combination of Outlook 2013 & Win10 does not...

What am I missing ?!

Any reason for entering manually? Are you not connected to domain? OWA and Active sync uses different method to connect to Exchange servers.

Not connected on the LAN but from outside the company premises. Never had an issue to setup...
In that case, you either need to use VPN or outlook anywhere should be configured and published externally. Then you can configure from outside also.
I guess outlook anywhere is configured as I have no issue using this server from variety of other devices... Or is this a restriction with 2013 ?
No restriction related to 2013, I know. If your admin restricted that you need to check. Are you able to configure profile from Win 8 machine or Win 7 for same user?
Yes definitely working from win8.1 ...

Good suggestion by Will.
This was Windows 10 "out of the box" (unfortunately).

I have tried to create a new profile to no avail.

I have installed the connection diagnostic tool and it complains about auto discovery not being properly set (which is indeed the case) for the domain. That does not prevent Win8.1 machine to work just fine...

In the process of updating our DNS in order to have proper auto discovery.
Ok it was quite a trip but now  everything is working - it was a matter of proper DNS entries (easy) and proper Exchange certs (much more complicated than it should be IMHO).
