Can I hook up 2 external monitors with my Lenova Ideapad P500?

I have a Lenova Ideapad P500.  Is it possible to hook up two external monitors to get an extended screen.  If I can do this, I wouldn't be using the built-in screen on my laptop.   If so, how do I do this?

As far as I know you can hook one monitor, because of laptop having only port.

You could technically do it, but you'd have to buy some extra hardware and I can't attest to how great it would all work.

1. Connect first monitor to the HDMI output on your laptop. You need a monitor with an HDMI input, otherwise you'd have to get a converter.
2. Get a USB to VGA adapater which lets you add a second monitor via USB. It's basically an external video card that connects via USB. Your question was answered. Your laptop only has one video out so you'd need to buy some adapters in order to add a second monitor.
